One to one study consultation for online distance learners

These one to one consultation sessions are open to all postgraduate online distance students at the University of Edinburgh.

Description:

This half hour one-to-one session with a Study Development Adviser can help students develop effective study strategies and enhance current study skills. The session could be used to discuss such things as (but not limited to) effective reading, time management and dissertation planning.

Please have in mind one or two specific study skill issue(s) you wish to discuss.

This consultation will not cover:

-Subject or discipline specific guidance.

-Proof-reading/editing service.

Cancellation:

If you need to cancel or change your appointment, please do so at your earliest opportunity and at least 3 days before the appointment. Someone else may be able to take your place, but we need time to contact them. Please email iad.masters@ed.ac.uk if you wish to cancel or change your appointment.

The 6th annual photography competition hosted by the International Office at the University of Edinburgh is now open.

The theme is ‘Diverse Edinburgh’.

The competition is open to all current international students at the University of Edinburgh.

One category is open to all current students who are on, or have been on, a ‘Go Abroad’ experience or exchange, and current Online Distance Learning students outside of the UK.

This session is intended for any online distance learner who would like get help or advice for using the web-based version of Endnote to keep a database of literature sources and create reference lists easily. Please note that this session will not cover the desktop version of EndNote, and is focussed on the web-based version.

*Before* the workshop, you should

These sessions are designed for new online distance learners, but if you’re in your second or third year, you’re still welcome. The sessions will cover accessing and using Library resources. When you register, you’ll be asked to indicate any particular things you’d like covered, so the sessions will be tailored to cover as much as possible of what is requested in advance.
