calendar‘How do you plan your first research project? This session explains the basics of project planning and helps you to apply them to academic research and your research project in particular.

Various tools and techniques will be discussed to help you think creatively and plan your project.  We will also look at how you can manage your time and yourself effectively during your research.

Course contents include:

  •    Project planning – understanding constraints, scope and purpose
  •    Project planning techniques – mind maps, drill down, risk analysis and planning charts (including reviewing and monitoring)
  •    Time Management – approaches and tools
  •    Professional Working Relationships in the research environment

This event is open to all taught postgraduates at the University of Edinburgh
